ANSWER:-

The unit of energy is derived unit because it is not a fundamental unit as it unit is joule .

w =F.S=kgm2/s2 =joule

so joule is derived from the fundamental unit (kg,mand s. / mass ,distance and time respectively) so energy is a derived unit.
