One metre is lenghth×breath which is nothing but length ×(one more length)

The SI has special names for 22 of these derived units (for example, hertz, the SI unit of measurement of frequency), but the rest merely reflect their derivation: for example, the square metre (m2), the SI derived unit of area; and the kilogram per cubic metre (kg/m3 or kg m−3), the SI derived unit of density.

By definition, pressure is the effect of force applied to a specific area. The unit of pressure is Pascal which is basically force of one newton per square meter. ... The units of Pressure, psi and Pa, have been derived from the Force and Area used.

A derived quantity is one whose value is based on other basic and fundamental quantities (e.g. time, distance and mass). Since a unit of area is simply the product of its length and width, two distance values, if is considered derived
