  • The UN gives veto powers to the US,UK,RUSSIA,FRANCE and CHINA. This was done because of their importance in world politics and growing influence after WW2. Well it has its pros and cons. advantage: countries like USA are able to protect israel frm arab nations by veto powers. But cons are that some countries mught misuse it to disagree with some things being passed. For example, (hypothetical situation) China can use it someday to deny kashmir to india etc. This is imaginary but is one of the disadvantages.

fun fact: Jawaharlal nehru had denied to accept this power for india and gave it china which china might misuse now.
