This year's total cost = 94$

Next year's tatal cost = 98.4$

Step-by-step explanation:

  • We have given that,

  • Lecture cost = 10$
  • workshop cost = 24$
  • Examination cost = 60$

This year's total cost = 94$

  • 10$+24$+60$=94$

respectively.

And The percentage increase in the cost is,

  • Lecture cost = 20%
  • workshop cost = 10%
  • Examination cost = No change

Next year's Lecture cost = 12$

  • 10×20/100=2
  • 10+2=12$

Next year's workshop cost = 26.4$

  • 24×10/100=2.4$
  • 24+2.4=26.4$

Examination cost = No change

Next year's total cost = 98.4

  • 12$+26.4$+60$=98.4$

Given :

Currently hourly lecture costs, workshop costs and examination costs are $10, $24 and $60 respectively.

To Find :

After increasing  lecture costs by 20%, workshop costs by 10%, the costs of level 2 course in the following year.

Solution :

The present lecture cost for level 2 course = $10.00

After increasing by 20%, the cost would be

= 10 + (20% of 10)

= 10 + (\frac{20}{100} × 10)

= 10 + (0.20 × 10)

= 10 + 2

= $12.00

The present workshop cost = $24.00

After increasing it by 10%, the cost would be

= 24 + (10% of 24)

= 24 + (0.10 × 24)

= 24 + 2.4

= $26.40

The examination cost will remain same in the following year.

Therefore, the total cost for the following year would be

= 12 + 26.40 + 60

= $98.40

Total cost of 2 level course for the following year would be $98.40.
