Given :- The upper part of a solid right circular cylindrical pillar is a hemisphere. What will be the volume of the pillar if the radius of base of it is 2 metres and its total length is 10 metres ?

Solution :-

→ Length of cylindrical pillar = Total length - radius of base = 10 - 2 = 8 m .

so,

→ Volume of pillar = Volume of cylindrical part + Volume of hemisphere

→ Volume of pillar = π * r² * h + (2/3) * π * (r)³

→ Volume of pillar = π * r * {rh + (2/3)r}

→ Volume of pillar = 3.14 * 2 * {2 * 8 + (2/3) * 2}

→ Volume of pillar = 6.28 * (16 + 4/3)

→ Volume of pillar = 6.28 * (52/3)

→ Volume of pillar = 108.85 (Ans.)
