The upper part of a tree, broken over by the wind, makes an angle of 45 degrees with the ground; and the distance from the root to the point where the top of the tree touches the ground, is 15 metres. what was the height of the tree before it was broken

B is the root of the tree,

C is the angle 45°.

Cos 45° = B

=> 1 = 15

√2 H

=> H = 15 * √2

then , the value of √2 is 1.414
