As the urine of the diabetic patients contains sugar, it can be separated and then fermented after adding to the mash stock.

In the traditional way, sugar is made from the starches of the mash, but as the sugar is processed from the urine, there is no need.

The fundamental process is the same as that of making traditional whisky using mash and starch.
