The use of ac is limited without transformer.why?

ANSWER:-

Transformer is needed during the both cases, either to increase the voltage or to decrease it. Without transformer no change in the voltage of alternating current can be made. That's why the use of alternating current is limited without transformer.

The alternating current is a current whose magnitude and direction changes .

The step up transformer is a device which helps in increasing the voltage .

The step down transformer is a device which helps in decreasing the voltage .

Without the transformers we cannot change the voltage of the transformer and hence we cannot " lower the loss of electric energy due to heating effects".

Without transformers we would not be able to lower the voltage of current while supplying the current to houses . Hence transformers are necessary for the use of alternating current .
