the use of fossil fuel is more than other fuel at present give reason??

Answer:
Because nuclear power had a couple of embarrassing accidents and got demonized out of all proportion, at least in the US. (the number of actual fatalities per unit of energy produced is much lower than anything else, even hydro power, while the coal industry has spread more radioactivity than Chernobyl).
Fossil fuel was a much better and denser energy source than biofuels - you could run a steam train faster and further on coal than on wood. Gasoline was even better - cleaner, easier to handle. The problems weren’t initially at all obvious, and were years in the future, even if the exponential growth had been predicted. The looming crisis of the streets of major cities drowning in horse poop had been averted.
Nuclear fuel has an even higher energy density, and after world war 2 an effort was made to use it for peaceful purposes by adapting the military fuel cycle for civilian use. Some countries such as France adopted it for political purposes - they had to buy fossil fuels from other countries, and did not want to be so dependant - but also because it was clean. Entire towns were advertised as being clean, electric and pollution-free.
The technology did not exist in the last century to make, for instance, photovoltaic cells cheaply. It still does not exist for us to use even more dense energy sources - fusion power or, in theory, antimatter as in Star Trek. So we are still using fossil fuels because they are a good energy source, and because we have a huge installed based of infrastructure for extracting, processing and using them.
The use of fossil fuel is more than other fuels at present because-
- Fossil fuels such as coal, natural gas etc. are much cheaper than other sources of energy.
- Fossil fuels are good sources of energy as they give a large amount of heat on burning.
- Besides this, they are already formed and hence, we need not spend our time and money in harnessing them.
- As they are easily available in comparison to other sources of energy, they are widely used as a fuel in cooking, automobiles etc.
