Given:

  • Marked Price (MP) = Rs. 30
  • Selling Price (SP) = Rs. 25

What To Find:

We have to find the discount percentage.

How to Find:

To find the discount percent we have to use the formula,

\sf{Discount \: \% =  \dfrac{Marked \: Price - Selling \: Price}{Marked \: Price}  \times 100}

Solution:

Using the formula,

\sf{Discount \: \% =  \dfrac{Marked \: Price - Selling \: Price}{Marked \: Price}  \times 100}

Substitute the value,

\sf{discount \: \% =  \dfrac{Rs.\: 30 - Rs. \: 25}{ Rs.\: 30}\times 100}

Subtract the numerator,

\sf{Discount \: \% =  \dfrac{Rs. \: 5}{ Rs.\: 30}\times 100}

Cancel 5 and 30,

\sf{Discount \: \% =  \dfrac{1}{ 6}\times 100}

Divide 100 by 6,

\sf{Discount \: \% =  16. 66  \: \%\: approx}

Therefore, the discount percentage is 16.66 % approx.
