the valancy of potassium is 1 then why we write potassium sulphate as K2SO4​

Answer:

According to the rules of making chemical formula, valencies of both the atoms are exchanged. As the charge on SO4 is 2, We write K2 in the formula and SO4 remains SO4 as it gets the valency 1 of potassium
