Valency of a salt does not exist. It is a neutral compound!
But valency for individual ions exist. For Aluminum cation, it is +3 and for chloride ion, it is -1
But if you want the valency factor or n-factor of a compound for stoichiometric purposes, it is defined as either the total positive charge or the total negative charge of the compound. So, it would be '3′ for Aluminum Chloride.
