Solution

We have two equation

kx + 2y - 1 = 0     (i)

5x - 3y + 2 = 0     (ii)

Its given both equation does not have solution , so we can write as

\rm\dfrac{a_1}{a_2} = \dfrac{b_1}{b_2} \not=\dfrac{c_1}{c_2}

so we have

a₁ = k , b₁ = 2 and c₁ = -1

a₂ = 5 , b₂ = -3 and c₂ = 2

Now Put the value on formula

k/5 = 2/-3

-3k = 10

k = -10/3

Answer

Value of k = -10/3
