2nd, add 3 to each side.

2x=3

3rd, divide both sides by 2, or multiply by 1/2.

x= 3/2. Unless expressing the answer in a different way than an improper fraction was indicated in instructions (which it is not). x= 1 1/2 is another acceptable format or even x =1.5.
