Answer:

 - 5 \frac{2}{7}  + 7 \frac{6}{12}

make them improper

  - 5  \frac{2}{7}  =  \frac{ - 37}{7}

7  \frac{6}{12}  =  \frac{90}{12}

now lets make them like fractions

lcm of 7 and 12 - 84.

 \frac{ - 37 \times 12}{7 \times 12}  =  \frac{ - 444}{84}

 \frac{90 \times 7}{12 \times 7}  =  \frac{630}{84}

now add them

 \frac{ ( - 444) + 630}{84}  =  \frac{186}{84}

make rhem reduced

 \frac{186}{84}  = 2 \frac{18}{84}= 2 \frac{3}{14}
