Given :-

Current value of a car :- ₹120000

Rate of depression :- 8%

Time :- 3 years

\:

To Find :-

The value of the car after 3 years...

\:

How to do :-

Here, we are given with the present value of the car. We are said that thr value of the car decreases to 8% every year. We are asked to find the new value of that car after 3 years. So, the value of the car decreases every year three times. First we should fins the total depression of the car in three years by multiplying the rate of depression and the time. Then, we should find the value of that percentage by using the total rate of depression and the current value of the car. Later, we can subtract it from the current value. So, let's solve!!

\:

Solution :-

Total rate of depression :-

{\tt \leadsto 8 \times 3}

Multiply the values to the total rate of depression.

{\tt \leadsto 24 \bf\%}

\:

Value of depression :-

{\tt \leadsto 24 \bf\% \tt \: \: of \: \: 120000}

Write the percentage as fraction form and 'of' as multiplication.

{\tt \leadsto \dfrac{24}{100} \times 120000}

Write the fraction in lowest form in cancellation method.

{\tt \leadsto \cancel \dfrac{24}{100} \times 120000 = \dfrac{6}{25} \times 120000}

Multiply the remaining numbers.

{\tt \leadsto \dfrac{6 \times 120000}{25} = \dfrac{720000}{25}}

Write the fraction in lowest form by cancellation method.

{\tt \leadsto \cancel \dfrac{720000}{25} = 28800}

\:

Now, find the new price of the car.

New price of the car :-

{\tt \leadsto 120000 - 28800}

Subtract the values to get the final answer.

{\tt \leadsto \pink{\underline{\boxed{\tt Rs \: \: 91200}}}}

\Huge\therefore The new price of the car after three years is 91200.

• Given that:-

Value of a car = 120000

Rate = 8%

Time = 3 years

• About :-

Time × Rate = Total rate of depression

8×3=24%

 \frac{24}{100}  \times 120000

 \frac{6}{25}  \times 120000

 \frac{6 \times 120000}{25}

 \frac{720000}{25}

 =  \: 28800

• New price = 120000-28800

= ₹9120
