Therefore, let one unit of a weight cost x²

Hence, the diamond as a whole costs= (12x)²=144x²

The cost of diamond when it's broken=9x²+16x²+25x²

Given, the person loses $9400.

Therefore, According To The Question:

144x²-50x²=9400=>94x²=9400=>x²=100

Therefore, Original cost of diamond=144*100=$14400.
