The value of ‘a’ in the following pattern is

Hey!!

If we see the first quadrilateral,

10+2+4= 16

Now 16 is also a part of the 2nd quad.

In the second quad.

15+16+8= 39

Now 39 becomes a part of the 3rd quad.

So a= 20+39+12= 61

The value of a is 61 as 2+4+10=16, 16+15+8=39, 39+12+20=61.
