Let the price of the land before increase be x.

x + 20% of x = 18000

x + 20x/100 = 18000

x + x/5 = 18000

6x/5 = 18000

6x = 90000

x = 15000.

Therefore the price of the land before the increase was 15000.

Hope this helps!

☆Hey Mate!!!☆

Let the original value be x

If we increase 20%, then = x + 20x/100

And increased value is also 18000

So, x + 20x/100 = 18000

( 100x + 20x ) / 100 = 18000

120x/100 = 18000

x = 18000 × 100/120
= 15,000
