The value of a machine is ₹ 1,80,000 .It is depreciating at a rate of 12% p.a. find the value of machine after 3year

Machine = 180000

Depreciate value = 12 % par annum


1st year machine value is

12 % of 180000 is

180000 × 12 ÷ 100 = 21600

Now machine value is 180000 - 21600 = 158400

2nd year depreciate value is

12 % of 158400 is

158400 × 12 ÷ 100 = 19008

Now machine value is 158400 - 19008 = 139392

3rd year depreciate value is

12 % of 139392 is

139392 × 12 ÷ 100 = 16727.04


Now machine value is 139392 - 16727.04 =

122664.96


Your answer is 122664.96 rupees..

Cost of computer (P) = 180000rupees


Time = 3 years


Rate of depreciation = 12 %


Amount


 = p {(1 - \frac{rate}{100}) }^{time} \\ \\ = 180000 {( 1-\frac{12}{100}) }^{3} \\ \\ = 180000 {( 1- 0.12) }^{3} \\ \\ = 180000 \times {0.88}^{3} \\ \\ =122664


After 3 years it's cost will be 122664 rupees.
