Given :

  • Value of motor = ₹45,000
  • Rate of depreciation = 15%
  • Time = 3years

To Find :

  • The value of the motor cycle at the 3rd year

Solution :

a = ₹45,000

Depreciation = 15% for ₹45,000

= 45000 × 15/100

= 450 × 15

= 6750

d = ₹6750

since it is depreciation,

d = -6750

At the end of 1st year :

= ₹45000 - ₹6750

= ₹38250

Again depreciation = 38250 × 15/100

= 3825 × 15/10

= 57375 / 10

= 5737.50

★ At the end of 2nd year :

= At the end of 1st year - Depreciation of the First year

= ₹38250 - ₹5737.50

= 32512.50

Again depreciation = 32512.50 × 15/100

= 487687.5 / 100

= 4876.87

★ At the end of 3rd year :

= At the end of 2nd year - Depreciation of the 2nd year

= 32512.50 - 4876.87

= 27635.63

° The value of motor cycle at the the 3rd year = 27636
