Value remaining at the end of the year after meeting depreciation requirements is 3/4 of the value at the beginning of the year..

so depreciation will be 1 - 3/4 = 1/4

1/4 = 25%

Initial Value = 40000

value at the end of 3 years..

initial value(1 - rate of interest)^time

40000(1 - 25%)^3

40000(0.75)^3

40000(0.421875)

16875

Answer:

The value at the end of 3 years is Rs.16875.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given : The value of a scooter depreciates in such a way that its value at the end of each year is 3 by 4 of its value at the beginning of the same here if the initial value of the scooter is 40000 rupees.

To find : What is its value at the end of 3 years?

Solution :

The initial value of the scooter is Rs.40000.

According to question,

The value at the end of each year is 3 by 4 of its value at the beginning.

i.e. Value of scooter at the end of year is 40000\times (\frac{3}{4})^1

So,  Its value at the end of 3 years is given by

V=40000\times (\frac{3}{4})^3

V=40000\times \frac{27}{64}

V=16875

Therefore, The value at the end of 3 years is Rs.16875.
