God couldn’t be present everywhere so he sent us friends. A true friend is God’s greatest gift to us. I have been blessed by God for giving me a true friend. My truest friend and also my best friend has been my mother.
She is the friend I can really trust. Ever since I gained consciousness she was by my side teaching me, guiding me and playing with me. When I was sick she would stay by my side, read me stories, make me laugh. As I grew up she gently rectified my mistakes. In my formative years when I suffered from severe mood swings she was by my side listening patiently to my nonsensical and hypothetical problems. She bore all my tantrums. When my father shouted at me and I locked myself up in my room she was there by my side to console me and also counsel me. What father couldn’t do by scolding she made me understand by love.
Mother was my pillar. The values of life, the morality, the will-power were all taught to me by her. I lost her this year. But from her presence I realised the value of a true friend. She was the friend I always needed. She was and will be my true friend forever indeed!
