Internal energy is the sum of the molecule's kinetic and potential energy and there are various energies that contribute towards the internal energy such as the translational energy of the molecule, the rotational and vibrational energy of molecules, the inter molecular energy, energy associated with bonds within the nucleus  and the overall potential energy of molecules.

Since, these all are microscopic energies of the molecule thus it is difficult to determine the value of absolute free energy of any substance.
