Solution :

Given,

Value after 2 years (R) = Rs. 5415

Duration (D) = 2 years

Note: i = rate of depreciation

We know that,

\implies \huge{\boxed{\sf{R = S (1 - i)^{D}}}}

By substituting the values,

\implies \sf{5415 = 6000(1 - i) ^{2}}

\implies \sf{ \frac{5415}{6000}  = (1 - i) ^{2}}

\implies \sf{0.9025 =  {(1 - i)}^{2}}

Now:

\implies \sf{ \sqrt{(0.9025)}  = 1 - i}

\implies \sf{0.95 = 1 - i}

So:

\implies \sf{i = 1 - 0.95}

\implies \sf{i = 0.05}

\implies \sf{i = 5\%}

Therefore,

The rate of depreciation is 5%.
