For real and equal roots,

D = 0

b²-4ac = 0

(k)² - 4 x 4 x 0 = 0

k² = 0

k = 0

Step-by-step explanation:

given

 {4x}^{2}  + kx = 0

if the roots are real and equal then delta =0

delta =

 {b}^{2}  - 4ac = 0

a=4 ,b=k ,c=0

k^2 -4(4)(0)=0

k^2=0

k=0

Hope it helps you....
