Answer:

then

X+2 = 0

x= -2

f(x) = 2x³+kx²+x-10=0

f(-2) = 2(-2)³+k(-2)²+(-2)-10=0

= -16+4k -2-10=0

-28+4k=0

+4k= 28

k= 28/4

k= 12

x + 2 = 0
x = - 2

Now substituting the value of x in the equation

f(x) = 2x³ + kx² + x – 10
f(-2) = 2 (-2)³ + k (-2)² + (-2) – 10
f(-2) = - 16 + 4k - 2 - 10
f(-2) = - 28 + 4K
- 28 + 4K = 0
4k = 28
k = 28/4
k = 7
