Answer :

k = 22

Solution :

Here ,

It is given that , x = 2 , y = 6 is a solution of the equation 2x + 3y = k .

Since ,

x = 2 , y = 6 is a solution of the given equation , thus x = 2 , y = 6 must satisfy the equation .

Thus ,

Putting x = 2 and y = 6 in the given equation ,

We have ;

=> 2x + 3y = k

=> 2•2 + 3•6 = k

=> 4 + 18 = k

=> 22 = k

=> k = 22

Hence , k = 22
