\bf 2m + 7 = 9

Transposing 7 from LHS to RHS, changing its sign,

 \bf \: 2m = 9 - 7

On simplifying,

\bf 2m = 2

Transposing 2 from LHS to RHS, changing its sign,

 \bf \: m =  \dfrac{2}{2}

Dividing 2 by 2,

 \bf \: m = 1.

Verification :-

To check our answer, we just have to put 1 in place of m and see whether LHS = RHS.

Putting 1 in place of m, we get :-

 \bf \: 2 \times 1  + 7 = 9

On simplifying,

 \bf \: 2 + 7 = 9

Simplifying again, we get :-

 \bf \: 9 = 9.

Since LHS = RHS,

Hence verified!! ✔️✔️
