The value of tan 15°/2-sec²15° = 1/2√3

Given:

tan 15°/2-sec²15°

Answer:

Find the value of  tan 15°/2-sec²15°

Solution:

Given tan 15°/2-sec²15°

⇒ As we know sec²θ =  1+tan²θ

⇒ tan 15°/2-(1+tan² 15°)

⇒ tan 15°/ 2 - 1 - tan²15°

⇒ tan 15°/ 1 - tan²15°

Multiply and divide by 2

⇒ 2 tan 15°/ 2 (1 - tan²15°)

As we know tan 2θ = 2 tanθ/ 1-tan²θ

⇒  tan 30°/ 2

From trigonometric table tan 30° = 1/√3

tan 30°/ 2  = (1/√3)/2 = 1/2√3

The value of tan 15°/2-sec²15° = 1/2√3
