Answer :– x=2 and y= -3/2

Step by Step Explanation :–

5x +4y-4=0

5x= 4 -4y

x= (4 -4y) /5. .........(i)

x -12y -20=0

Keeping value of X

{(4 -4y) /5} -12y=20

(4-4y-60y)/5=20

4-64y=(20)(5)

-64y=100-4

y=96/(-64)

y = (-3)/2

Keep value of y in equation (i)

x=[4 - 4{(-3)/2} ] /5

5x=4 -(-6)

5x= 4+6

x= 10/5

x= 2
