Multiplying eqn. 1 by √2,

√6x + 2√2y = 0       → 3

Now, solving eqn. 3 and 2:

    √6x  +  2√2y   = 0     → 3    [eqn. (3 - 2) ]

(-) √5x  + (-)2√2y =  0    → 2

         √6x - √5x = 0

⇒   x(√6 - √5) = 0

∴    x = 0

Substituting x in y,

√3x + 2y = 0

√3(0) + 2y = 0

      0 + 2y = 0

             2y = 0

         ⇒   y = 0

Hence, the option is (b) x = 0, y = 0.
