Given : (x + y)/xy = 7 , (3x + 2y)/xy = 17

x and y are not equal to zero

To Find : x and y

Solution:

(x + y)/xy = 7

=>  x + y = 7xy  Eq1

(3x + 2y)/xy = 17

=> 3x + 2y  = 17xy   Eq2

Eq2 - 2 * Eq1

=> x  = 3xy

=> 1 = 3y

=> y = 1/3

Eq2 - 3 * Eq1

=>  -y  = -4xy

=> x = 1/4

x = 1/4  and y = 1/3
