To Find :- The value of x in the given figure ?

A) 5 cm B) 4cm C) 2 cm D) 3cm

Solution :-

from image we can see that, In ∆PQR we have,

→ PQ = 10 cm

→ PR = 8 cm

→ QS = 5 cm

→ SR = x cm

→ ∠QPS = ∠RPS = 35°

So, we can conclude that, PS is angle bisector of ∠QPR .

then,

→ PQ/QS = PR/SR { By angle bisector theorem }

putting values now,

→ 10/5 = 8/x

→ 2/1 = 8/x

→ x = 8/2

→ x = 4 cm (B) (Ans.)

Hence, The value of x in the given figure is equal to 4 cm .
