Remove bracket ( rememner to take care of negative sign)

2x-4+x=5-x

Combine like terms

3x-4=5-x

Add x to both sides

4x-4 =5

Add 4 to both side

4x=9

Divide both side by 4

x:9/4

Answer:- 9/4
