X=2-y(put this in eqn 2)

(2–y)²+y²=2

4+y²-4y+y²=2

2y²-4y+2

2(y²-2y+1)

Y²-1y-1y+1

Y(y-1)-1(y-1)

Y-1=0

Y=1

AND HENCE X=2–Y

X=2–1

X=1

SO,XY=1*1=1
