Given : |x^2-a|=cos⁻¹(cosx)

To Find :  values of a so that equation is solvable

Solution:

|x^2-a|=cos⁻¹(cosx)

cos⁻¹(cosx)   =  α     α    ∈ [ 0 , π ]

x =  2nπ ± α

(2nπ ±  α )²  -  a  =  ± α  

a =  (2nπ ±  α )²  ± α
