The values of the remainder r when a positive integer a is divided by 3 are 0 and 1 only. justify your answer

the remainder can be 2 also.
any number if divided by a number 'n' ,the possible values of remainder are 0 to (n-1).

So The values of the remainder r when a positive integer a is divided by 3 are 0 ,1 &2
