The vapour density of a fully dissociated NH4Cl will be half the vapour density of pure NH4Cl. Why so?

V.D. = M/2,

where M = molar mass.

Now as NH4Cl dissociates into 2 molecules/atoms, its effective molecular atom becomes half(according to concept of band`s Hoff factor). Hence V.D. also gets half..

Hope this helps u..
