(a) if we substitute even values of C in C+6 we find the ans to be even as well as given in the option

Eg.If C=2,4,8

then C+6=8,10,14 respectively and all are even

(b)if we try the same for C-5 when C=8,10,12

C-5=3,5,7 the ans are odd as given in the option.
