Solution

 Coordinates of point , "a" having position vector = (1,1, -1)= i + j - k

Coordinates of point "b" having Position vector = (2,3,4)=2 i +3 j + 4 k

Vector (ab)= Position Vector of "b" - Position Vector of point "a"

                = 2 i +3 j+ 4 k - (i +j-k)

                  = 2 i + 3 j + 4 k - i - j + k

                  = (2 i -i)+(3 j -j)+(4 k+k)

                  = i +2 j + 5 k
