Answer:

u = 6m/s

Explanation:

We would be using the First Equation of Motion to solve this question.

Consider 12m/s and 18m/s to be v₁ and v₂ respectively.

Initial velocity and acceleration would be the same in both the cases.

Substitute the values :-

v₁ = u + at

12 = u + 2a      ...(1)

v₂ = u + at

18 = u + 4a     ...(2)

Subtract (2) - (1)

6 = 2a

a = \frac{6}{2}

a = 3m/sec²

Substitute value of acceleration in any equation:-

12 = u + (3)(2)

12  - 6 = u

u = 6m/s

So, the initial velocity of the body is 6m/s !

Answer:

16m/s in 2 second

Explanation:

I think if we substract 18m/s-12m/s then it comes 16m/s and the time 4sec-2sec=2sec.

so the velocity is 16m/s
