The velocity function is v(t)=−t2+4t−3 for a particle moving along a line. Find the displacement of the particle during the time interval [0,5]?

Hello there!

Displacement is the area btw the velocity -time graph.

So the integrate the velocity function over the interval of 0 to 5 with dt.

D= \int\limits^5_0 {t^{2} + 4t -3} \, dt = \int\limits^5_0 {(t^{3}/3 + 4t^{2}/2 -3t }) \,

now just put the limits and get the answer.
