The velocity of a car increases from 54km/hr to 72 km/hr. How much is the work done if the mass of the car is 1500kg

☣ ANSWER ☣

Given values

Mass m = 1500 kg

U =54km/hr

= 54 X 5/18 = 15 m/s

V = 72 km/hr

= 72 X 5/18

=. 20 m/s

We know that

Work done = change in kinetic energy

So

1/2 m ( v² - u ²)

= 1/2 X 1500 ( 20² - 15² )

= 1/2 X 1500 ( 400 - 225 )

= 750 X 175

= 13125 J //
