Given:-

  • Initial velocity (u) = 54×5/18= 15m/s

  • Final velocity (v) = 72×5/18= 20m/s

  • Mass of car (m) = 1500kg

To Find:-

  • Work done (W).

Solution:-

As we know that change of kinetic energy is called work done. so by using the formula of kinetic energy .

→Initial Kinetic Energy = 1/2mu²

Substitute the value we get

→ Initial Kinetic = 1/2×1500×15²

→ Initial Kinetic = 750×225

→ Initial Kinetic = 168750 Joule

And Now Calculating the final kinetic energy

→ Final kinetic = 1/2mv²

Substitute the value we get

→ Final kinetic = 1/2×1500×20²

→ Final kinetic = 750×400

→ Final Kinetic = 300000 Joule

Now, Calculating Work done

Work done = Final Kinetic- Initial Kinetic

→ W = 300000 - 168750

→ W = 131250Joule

The work done is 131250 Joule.

Answer:

131250 Joule

Explanation:

=>Mass of car m = 1500 kg

=> Initial velocity = 54 km/h = 54 x 5/18 = 15 m/s

=> Final velocity = 72 km/h = 72 x 5/18 = 20 m/s

=> Initial kinetic energy = 1/2 mv2

=> K.E = 1/2 x 1500 x (15)2

=> K.E = 168750 J

Increased kinetic energy = 1/2 mv2

=> K.E = 1/2 x 1500 x (20)2

=>K.E = 300000 J

Work done = Change in kinetic energy

=> w = 300000 - 168750

=> w = 131250 J

Hence the work done by the force on the car = 131250J
