From the information, we come to know that the acceleration = {(20-10)/5} m/s^2 = 2 m/s^2

This means that the velocity increases by 2 m/s every second.

So, the retardation (-ve acceleratin) before 3 seconds would be;

10 m/s - (2×3) m/s

= (10 - 6) m/s

= 4 m/s

HOPE I COULD HELP !!!

vanajarazz: Thanks
antareepray2: You are welcome....
antareepray2: And remember that it is applicable if the velocity is uniform....
