To find :

The velocity of air in a mixture of hydrogen and oxygen

Solution :

  • We have the relation v∝1/√ρ
  • Density of hydrogen = 2
  • Density of mixture  = ρmix = [4(2) + 1(32)]/4+1

                   = 8

  • vmix/v = √(ρ/ρmix)
  • vmix = v×√(ρ/ρmix)

        = v/2 = 612m/s

The velocity of the air mixture is 612m/s
