Answer:

So,the total distance traveled by the cycle will the area of the figure formed by that line

And for the acceleration you will be using v-u/t

Step-by-step explanation:

acceleration of the bicycle in the first 8 seconds:-

u=0(because it starts from rest)

v=10 m/s(as it is given)

a=v-u/t

a=10-0/8

a=10/8

so,the acceleration will be

1.25 m/s

and for the total distance traveled by the cycle will the area of the figure formed by that line by using the area of trapezium which is 1/2 of a+b.h

Given : The velocity time graph for a cycle is shown.

To Find :   distance travelled

Solution:

The velocity time graph for a cycle

Hence distance covered will be area under curve.

Area for 0 to 20 sec is a trapezium formed

with parallel sides as  20  and  6

while distance between them is 10 .

Area = (1/2)(20 + 6) * 10  = 130

Hence distance covered = 130 m

distance travelled on the cycle is 130 m

Acceleration in last 4 seconds =  (  0 -  10)/(20 - 12) = -10/8  = -5/4 = -1.25 m/s²

-1.25 m/s²  is the acceleration in last 8 secs
