here we know that

vxt = displacemet when we find the area of those two equilatoral trapizum under the curve then its give us the displacement

displacement = 25 + 25

displacement = 50m

The correct answer is option (2) 50 m.

Given,

The velocity-time graph for a moving particle.

To Find,

The total displacement of the object during the time interval when there is non-zero acceleration and retardation.

Solution,

The total displacement of the object during the time interval when there is non-zero acceleration and retardation will be equal to the area under the graph between the time interval 20 to 40.

Now,

Displacement = Area of the rectangle with base 20 and height 1 + Area of the triangle with height 3 and base 20.

Displacement = 20(1)+1/2(3)(20)

Displacement = 20+30 = 50 m

Hence, the displacement of the object during non-zero acceleration and retardation is 50 m.
