GiveN:-

  • A velocity-time graph of a body thrown vertically upward which reaches the ground later is given .

To FinD :-

  • Calculate the maximum height reached by the body

SolutioN :-

From the graph we can see that the initial velocity of the ball was 30m/s . The total time of flight of the ball was 6s . 3 s taken in upward journey and 3s in downward journey . We know the formula of maximum height when the initial velocity is known is ,

\sf:\implies\pink{ Height_{(maximum)}=\dfrac{(Initial\ velocity)^2}{2g }}\\\\\sf:\implies H_{(max)}= \dfrac{ (30m/s)^2}{2(10m/s^2)}\\\\\sf:\implies H_{(max)}=\dfrac{ 900m^2/s^2}{20 m/s^2}\\\\\sf:\implies\underset{\blue{\sf Required\ Height}}{\underbrace{\boxed{\pink{\frak{ Height_{(maximum)}= 45m}}}}}
